Management Team
David Wieland is a member of the executive management team, and provides entrepreneurial leadership in stewarding creative ways to expand the Foundation’s national footprint and fostering an organizational culture rooted in innovation and entrepreneurial zeal.

David is a Chicago-based entrepreneur with a deep passion for technology startups. He has quickly built a reputation as one of Chicago’s “most watched” technology entrepreneurs by taking two startups to successful exits — Powersurge in 2006 and Innflux in 2011. And currently manages the rapid growth of iEstates Media, a domain name portfolio company, and the fast-rising human resources software company RIVS.

Currently, David has expanded his sphere of influence into the angel investment arena as the Co-Founder of Irish Angels, a top-tier angel investment group composed of Notre Dame alumni and friends. He is also an active angel investor, mentors and advises promising technology entrepreneurs and companies, and often found at Chicago’s premiere digital startup hub 1871.

A native Iowan, David currently resides in Chicago. He’s an avid fisherman, loves skiing at the family home in Colorado, and equally loves a remote far-away beach reading philosophy. David has lost an aunt and cousin to lymphoma, and two of his cousins are currently living with cancer.

He graduated with a bachelor’s in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of Notre Dame, and obtained his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
