Management TeamJennifer Thompson is a member of the executive management team, and provides strategic direction and vision for the Foundation. She also provides organizational leadership in developing and executing a compressive media strategy spreading the Foundation’s mission to communities around the world.
Jennifer is currently Senior Vice President of Crisis & Risk Management at Edelman, the world’s largest independently owned public relations firm. She helps develop strategy and mitigation solutions for corporate crisis and risk avoidance. Working with multinational clients to respond to situations and proactively develop reputation management plans, Jennifer works with financial services, food and nutrition, pharmaceutical, technology, and manufacturing companies, as well as educational institutions and nonprofit organizations on marketing communications, risk assessment, and overall crisis management.
Prior to Edelman, Jennifer was Managing Director of International Operations at Oshkosh Corporation, where she led global strategic growth and marketing initiatives for the company and was based in Washington DC and Beijing, China. Before joining Oshkosh Corporation, Jennifer served on Capitol Hill as Legislative Director to Congressman Robin Hayes of North Carolina, a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, handling appropriations and communications.
A native of South Dakota, Jennifer currently resides in Chicago. She has lived in China, Spain and Japan, and enjoys playing the cello, running and traveling to far-off places.
She graduated with a bachelor’s in History and International Studies from Northwestern University, earned a master’s in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, and obtained her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
